About Pierre

Pierre Kremer started his musical career at the age of eight with the study of his favourite instrument, the trumpet.

Prize-winner of the Luxembourg City Conservatory, he pursued his studies with the trumpet soloist of the Luxembourg philharmonic orchestra, Gerard Millière and took lessons, amongst others, with Pierre Thibaud, Paris and Malte Burba, Mainz. The passion to create his own music let to the study of music writing and arranging at Berklee College of music in recent years.

His music

Throughout his career, Pierre Kremer’s constant seek for the ideal sound on his instrument and proficiency in music performance made him develop and complement his own set of skills by enlarging his musical background all over the years with the interpretation of a growing and versatile repertoire. Beside his main instrument, the study of the trombone, its technique, means of expression and sound qualities greatly helped to enhance his own trumpet timbre.

Pierre Kremer is particularly interested in chamber-music and small ensembles with variable structure. He is co-founder of the ‘Quintette de cuivres de Lorraine’, the ‘Luxembourg Brass Ensemble’ (former Musica Aeterna) and, more recently, the ‘Luxembourg Little Big Band’, an ensemble founded to create and perform jazz music from Luxemburgish composers.

But above all, Pierre Kremer strongly believes that music is replete with friendship, social contacts and the share of emotions. Since the last fifteen years, he engages himself, supported by his musician’s friends, to raise funds for social projects with the organisation of charity concerts thus creating also more visibility for the objectives of these projects. He got in 2018 the Lions International Melvin award for dedicated humanitarian services which he would like to share with all his friends who helped and advised him in this action.
